As the IPL season approaches, here’s taking a look at Cutting Crew Studio, who were the exclusive production partners of not just one IPL team but for three, Gujarat Titans (winners of IPL 2022), Lucknow Super Giants and of course Mumbai Indians who they have been working with for 3 consecutive years. The Studio produced 100+ films, in a span 27 shoot days collectively, with a total team size of 60 people including production, post production, music directors, and VFX artists.
Undeniably a feat in itself. Cutting Crew Studio has been in the business of producing ad campaigns for almost 2 decades which shows in their management of working with sportsmen like Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, Mohammad Shami, Shubman Gill, Quinton De Kock, Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard, Jason Holder, Ishaan Kishan, Ravi Bishnoi, Krunal Pandya etc Cutting Crew Studio, efficiently managed to oil this well setup machinery for a tournament which was to happen in a bio-bubble.
They formed small yet efficient teams of 12 crew members per team on the inside and 5 on the outside to run the show. This was working in a western fashion. The Production crew shot ads almost daily & the footage was brought into their studio which is located in Khar and the post team was editing almost 7 films a day making the entire process look like a well-rehearsed play. Speaking on this achievement and the ensuing IPL season, founder Vivek Shah said, “It was one of the toughest mandate for us.
Handling Mumbai Indian who have been with us for last three years, we also got the mandates for Gujarat lions and Lucknow Super Giants last year. With the Pandemic throwing routine shoots out of gear, our team clearly raised the bar shooting in the bio bubble. This synchrony which was performed for a whole month where the crew shot various ad campaigns for 20+ brands including Meesho, Jio, My 11 Circle, Capri Loans, McDowells, Fancraze, Toothsi, Too Yum, DHL, Gigabyte, Sunstone, Kingfisher among many others.They also shot the Mumbai Indians brand Anthem”, he added.
