Mumbai, 15 April 2025 (UTN). Actress Poulami Das, who plays the role of Champa in ALTT’S Dulhaniya Beediwali, says that she loves her new role. She also adds that she loves the way it has been shot. Well, I’ve never played a character of a Ghost so it is something new for me but I always wanted to do such characters, which is not that which I previously haven’t done. So yes, and second of all I’ve done so many shows with ALOT previously. So, I am very close to the team of ALTT, so they’ve asked me and I couldn’t just say no,” she says.
The show has a mix of mystery and supernatural elements, she says, adding, “The way they shoot such scenes which have a little bit of a mixer mystery, and supernatural elements are extremely different from how we genuinely shoot. So it was very exciting to know such parts of the films and shooting it was quite good.”
Ask her how she prepared for the role, and she says, “I was very excited for this role. I didn’t do anything exceptionally in preparation, but it was more like I knew what I was supposed to do. I just followed that path.”
She adds, “I was quite intrigued when I knew about the story. We have already seen shows and movies, I actually wanted to be part of something like this. It was a great acting experience,The actress says that she enjoys taking up challenging roles. “If there’s no challenge, if there’s no good element in your character, then what’s the point of being an actress. I always take roles which are a bit challenging for me and which are a bit different from my previous characters, which I have played before. Here, I had more shades to play, so it was quite exciting for me,” she says.
