Koraput, 16 August 2023 (UTN). The holiest 77th Independence Day was celebrated in Ashok Nagar residence of Koraput district. On this day, the tricolor flag with the photograph of Bharat Mata was first honored in the premises, flowers were offered to Bharat Mata and lamps and incense were offered to her.
Jai Bharat Mata was chanted and the taste of freedom was felt all around. On this day, the great freedom fighters of the country Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Bose, Veer Surendra Sai, Queen Laxmibai, Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri were commemorated by placing floral wreaths on their photographs.
Tributes have been paid to Shushant Khuntia, CRPF’s brother from Anandpur, Keonjhar district, who was martyred in the Maoist attack in Jharkhand in the last few days and sacrificed his life for the country. On this occassion, prominent Senior Teacher of Koraput Harihar Patnaik, Young lecturer and poet Trinath Patnayak were present and enjoyed the taste of Independence Day.
