Shivangi Verma: ‘With Childhood Friends, You Can Be Your Weirdest Self and Still Be Loved’

Talking about friendships in the entertainment industry, Shivangi admits, “It’s not easy, I’ll be honest.

Mumbai, 05 August 2025 (UTN). As Friendship Day approaches on August 3rd, actress Shivangi Verma known who is known for her roles in Tera Ishq Mera Fitoor, Choti Sarrdaarni, the recently released film Badass Ravi Kumar, and the upcoming movie Gaurishankar Gauharganj Wale gets candid about what friendship truly means to her in today’s fast-paced, screen-driven world.

“Yes, I do!” she says enthusiastically when asked if she still celebrates the day. “I still get excited about Friendship Day like I used to in school. I might not tie friendship bands now, but I always message or call my close friends,” she shares. “Even a small ‘I miss you’ text matters. We may be busy in our lives, but remembering each other on this day feels really special.”

Talking about friendships in the entertainment industry, Shivangi admits, “It’s not easy, I’ll be honest. Everyone is busy, and the schedules are crazy.” However, she counts herself lucky. “I’ve been fortunate to find some genuine friends in the industry. But I do feel that outside the industry, friendships are more raw and real,” she says thoughtfully. “In our profession, it sometimes takes time to figure out who’s truly there for you and who’s just being nice on the surface.”

When asked what her ideal time with friends looks like, Shivangi smiles, “Honestly, I’m someone who loves cozy vibes. So for me, the perfect time is just sitting in pyjamas, laughing, maybe cooking together or having chai and long conversations,” she adds. “It doesn’t have to be a party or a vacation. Sometimes, just a long phone call makes me feel connected and happy.”

And when it comes to old friends, Shivangi’s eyes light up. “Yes, I’m still in touch with my school friends. That bond is unbreakable,” she says. “With childhood friends, you can be your silliest, weirdest self, and they still love you the same. That kind of friendship is rare today.
