Mumbai, 26 July 2025 (UTN). Samridhii Shukla, who is currently seen in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, believes that shows that are relatable work well on TV today. She said, “I think the shows that do well in today’s time are the shows where the characters are relatable. Nowadays, we are writing stories, and we are building characters that are flawed. We could be the main hero, the main heroine. We could be the central character of the story. But regardless, we can be extremely flawed. We can be imperfect,” she added.
She further shared that sometimes they face backlash from the audience as well, but that’s how humans are. “They’re not perfect all the time. You know, they don’t really make the right choices. But I think what is flawed is relatable and real. And I think that at least helps our show to be where it is today,” she said.
Samridhii further shared that influencers have an advantage over actors when it comes to getting opportunities. She said, “It is because of them, but what they do with the opportunity is something that their work will speak for.”
However, she believes that at the end of the day it’s all about talent. She said, “If you’re an influencer and you can act, well, way to go. You can go ahead. But if you’re an influencer and probably your acting chops are not that great, I think they would want to reconsider. This is a change that I’m observing.”
While she loves to consume different types of content, rom-com is the last on her watchlist; however, she would love to explore that genre as an actor. She added, “If I want to pick a movie, I’m more of a thriller kind. I would love to do a thriller OTT also. But I think rom-com would be—because comedy is something that I’m missing, and I really miss doing comedy, so I really would love to do comedy and romance again.
